About us

Metsi Chem (PTY) Ltd was established in 2001 as a Black Economic Empowerment Company. After four (4) years of effective empowerment it was decided to restructure Metsi Chem.

The Western Cape branch of Metsi Chem, has been converted to an Associated Company of Metsi Chem Group, called Metsi Chem iKapa (PTY) Ltd in which the Metsi Chem Group holds 26% of the shares. The other shares have been distributed among the Managing Director and employees and consultants of Metsi Chem iKapa (PTY) Ltd.

The restructuring process was finalized on 13 April 2005 and Metsi Chem iKapa (PTY) Ltd has been awarded the responsibilities to serve the needs of the water treatment industries in the Western Cape and part of the Northern Cape Province.

After two (2) successful years of operation as an associated Company, it was decided on 22 October 2007 to restructure Metsi Chem iKapa again to a total independent Company owned by the full-time employees and consultants of the Company.

Metsi Chem Group and other shareholders not employed by Metsi Chem iKapa (PTY) Ltd sold their shareholding back to Metsi Chem iKapa (PTY) Ltd and the shares were distributed among Previously Disadvantaged employees of the Company. All the shares in the Company are now owned by our employees, consultants and/or their Trusts.

As a progressive Company we subscribe to the principles of shareholding, management, employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, investing and empowering of PDI’s within the immediate vicinity of our operations. Our primarily aim is to become an excellent BBEEE contributor in terms of the proposed BBBEE Code of Conduct.

Metsi Chem iKapa has established a branch in Cape Town and will investigate the possibility to appoint agents and/or distributors in the Boland and Northern Cape.
